He married Julia Dorothea Bartels, daughter of Christoffel Jacob Erontryk Bartels and Johanna Margretha Schuyling on 20 Aug 1821 in Calcutta, West Bengal, India. She was born on 07 Apr 1797 in Bambalapitiya Ceylon. She died on 02 Jun 1839 in Kishnagur", Balmain, New South Wales Australia.
